Frottage (franz. Das Reiben)

Frottage ist ein graphisches Verfahren, das von Max Ernst (1891 – 1976) im Jahre 1925 entdeckt wurde. Es handelt sich um eine Druckreibetechnik, bei der die Maserung einer rauen Oberfläche (z. B. Holz) mithilfe von Bleistiftschraffierungen auf ein Blatt Papier oder auf eine Leinwand übertragen wird.
